Rutgers Magazine

Rutgers Magazine is a publication intended to keep Rutgers alumni and anyone else interested in Rutgers informed about Rutgers-related news. Articles cover the lives and achievements of alumni, students, faculty, the administration, Rutgers organizations, as well as the history of the university, new faces and places on campus, and just about anything else related to Rutgers, or the relation between Rutgers and the rest of the world. Rutgers Magazine in its current form is the result of the1986 union of three separate publications: Rutgers Today, the venerable Rutgers Alumni Magazine, and Matrix: a Report on Research at Rutgers. However, as you can see from the table below, Rutgers Magazine has been published, in one form or another, since 1914.

The Rutgers Magazine Index

Eventually, the Rutgers Magazine Index will index every issue of the magazine, beginning with Volume 1, Number 1 of the Rutgers Alumni Quarterly from October 1914.

Credits

The underlying database for the Rutgers Magazine Index was designed by Rutgers M.L.I.S. student Ian Goulston under the supervision of Professor Jim Anderson and in cooperation with Rutgers Magazine editor Renee Olson and University Archivist Thomas Frusciano. The initial design of the Web interface and retrieval system for the index was developed by the SCC under the direction of Ron Jantz in cooperation with Ian Goulston with the invaluable technical assistance of SCC staff member Michael LeBlanc. The SCC will continue to oversee, maintain and update the index in the future with input from the magazine staff and Special Collections and University Archives.

History of the publication currently known as Rutgers Magazine
