Title: Architecture, Process and Object Models for the Encyclopedia of Chicago
Presenter: Bill Parod
Abstract: The electronic edition of The Encyclopedia of Chicago is a collaboration of Chicago Historical Society, Newberry Library, and Northwestern University. It is based on the print edition published by University of Chicago Press, but extended for web publication. It contains a rich and diverse collection of materials including entries, photographs, newspapers, bound volumes, layered maps, timelines, and extended essays. This presentation will discuss the overall FEDORA architecture, content models, behavior models, and general workflow designed for the Encyclopedia's development.
