Information Handling Lab Guide

Configuration

Single Mode | Split Mode

Single Mode:

The default set up is for the rooms to be split into separate labs. If you combine the rooms into a single lab, please return them to the split mode when you are done.

Single mode means the two rooms are configure so that they can be used as a single room. The podium located in IHL 413 must be used to lead a class when using the two labs as a single lab.

  1. Open up the panels that divide the two labs.

  2. Disconnect the data connection from the Tech Commander box in IHL 415.

  3. Go to the Tech Commander box in IHL 413 and make sure that the light next to "Student to Instructor" (S => I) is lit.

  4. Locate "SET UP" on the LCD display. Press the prompt button directly beneath "SET UP".

  5. Press "5" on the keypad to access the "CSPLIT" menu.

  6. You want to use the rooms as a single labs, so press the prompt button directly beneath "SINGLE" on the LCD display.

  7. Wait for the Tech Commander to poll the workstations. You are now in "single" mode.

Split Mode:

Split Mode is the default setting for the Information Handling Labs. In Split Mode the labs are configured as two separate labs. You will only need to follow these steps at the conclusion of an event that uses the two labs as a single lab.

  1. Make sure that the Tech Commander box in IHL 415 is still unplugged, then follow steps 3, 4, and 5 from above.

  2. You want to use the rooms as two separate labs, so press the prompt button directly beneath "SPLIT" on the LCD display.

  3. Wait for the Tech Commander to poll the workstations.

  4. Now go back into IHL 415 and plug in the Tech Commander box. Wait for the Tech Commander to poll the workstations. IHL 415 is now ready for use.

  5. Guide the panels back into place so that the two labs are completely separated. You are now in "SPLIT" mode.
